Miniature/Pendant

Miniature portrait pendant.

The portrait of the lady in the pendant is hand painted, and the pendant is hand crafted. The lady is of continental origin. The costume worn by the lady is suggestive of sixteenth century English fashion. The hat is encased with two rolls of very small natural seed pearls. The first roll has 7 very small natural seed pearls and the second roll has 6 very small natural seed pearls.

The portrait is surrounded by a 2.27 millimeters solid gold bezel.
The size of the portrait is 7/8 inches in diameter which has been measured from the outside of the bezel.

The 2.75 millimeter bezel is encased in a sold gold frame.
The size of the frame is 1 1/2 inches in diameter which has been measured from the outside of the frame. The frame that the bezel rest in is stamped 14 karate gold.

The bezel is surrounded by 30 turquoises.
Each turquoise is approximately 2 millimeters.
The 30 gem stone turquoises are surrounded by 44 small sold gold balls, and on each ball there is another 7 drops of small gold balls which makes a cluster design.

Also surrounding the 44 gold balls there are another set of 44 small sold gold balls, and on each ball there is 3 drops of small gold balls which makes a cluster design.

The bale to the pendant has 8 small sold gold balls, and each ball has 6 small gold balls which makes a cluster design.

The gold ball drop designed is also hand crafted in the back of the outer rim of the pendant.

I have been told that the miniature pendent is the only one that is in existence.
The hand painted lady in the pendent is very rare, and has been dated any where from the 16th to the 18th century.
